Did you catch the American Idol finals last year in between Taylor Hicks and Catherine What’s Her Name? Who won? The one with the best voice? Or the one with the most character?
I’m gon na tell you a trick, something nobody ever informs business owners. It’s not about being the best! It never was. So lots of entrepreneurs lose their time and money bragging about being the finest. “We offer the very best doohickeys …” “We provide the very best customer service …” ‘
It’s dopey to brag about being the best! Why? ‘Cause
1. Everyone states it.
2. It’s probably not true.
3. We don’t believe you anyhow
Don’t fret about it, ’cause
4. We’re not constantly trying to find the very best.
Look at singers. The most well-known. The most loved. Are they the best? Rod Stewart’s what, 92? And still producing hit albums! “Do You Think I’m Sexy?” No Rod. I do not. 피클티비 Not 30 years back when the tune came out and certainly not now. Somehow a geriatric Rod got to wiggle his properties on American Idol along with Taylor Hicks! On the other hand bad Catherine is doing a lame cameos on Ugly Betty.
The “It” Factor
In showbiz, there’s an expression “You’ve got ‘it’.” What’s “it”?
The factor they call it “it” is since it’s difficult to put it into words. It’s got something to do with charisma, magnetism, the power to attract and hold an audience. Frankly, Rod Stewart never ever did it for me, however Elvis absolutely had “it”.
Gain Access To Your Inner Elvis
I just saw a film about Elvis’ life. Why are people so interested by Elvis? Since a character that big never passes away.
Why was the man such a star? Was it his appearance, his character, his voice, his music? It’s most likely all of those things– together with this magical thing called “it”, but even with Elvis, it took him a while to discover his inner “it”.
In the motion picture, a docu-drama (or shlock-u-drama), Elvis walks into Sun Records, a little Memphis recording studio, to sing for Sam Phillips. Elvis sings like Bill Monroe; he sings like Bing Crosby; he sings like the other day’s news.
It wasn’t a quickie, even for Elvis, to find his original voice. Ultimately he did find it.
What’s this got to do with business owners? Everything!
You got ta find your original voice. You got ta dig beyond the common. You got ta discover your organization’ personality and then you need to reveal it. You got ta gain access to your Inner Elvis!
Do that and see your star shine.
